Self-Confidence seems to keep coming up lately - on Facebook, in a recent Huffington Post Blog, in the book I picked up this morning: Mark Nepo’s The Book of Awakening. But is self-confidence the key to career success?
Sarah Moshman makes films that inspire and uplift women. She and her co-filmmaker Dana Cook took an all-female film crew around the country to interview 17 successful women and ask them about success. With the goal of encouraging women to pursue their career ambitions, they called this The Empowerment Project.
The Keys to Career Success
In the interview with Huffington Post contributor MeiMei Fox, Sarah Moshman made the following comments:
“Confidence is everything.”
Knowing your value is extremely important in pursuing your dreams.
A common theme of the interviews was, “…the sooner you figure out your passion, the better off you’ll be.”
All the women interviewed (from a pilot to a brewmaster to a scientist) had great passion
for their chosen careers.
Despite obstacles these women found ways to continue pursuing their passions.
So self-confidence may not be THE key, but together with passion and determination you will have the tools you need to accomplish great things and find success in your chosen career!
