“Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.” –Wayne Dyer
Time spent being miserable about a job situation (or any other situation in life), is time we steal from ourselves. It is time that we cannot get back. It is time that we could use in pursuit of enhancing our skills and strengths, exploring alternative career paths, or looking for a new job if the old one is no longer providing what we need.
Choose to Move Forward, Instead of Looking Back!
If you find yourself caught up in your head about how unhappy, frustrated, angry, bored, and/or depressed you are at your job – STOP! Take 10 long slow deep breaths. Think about what you DO want and motivate yourself to take one step, no matter how small, in that direction. That step might be to clarify your career goals, update your resume, or call a friend who is networked in the community and let them know you are in the market for a new opportunity.
Today, and every day, you get to choose how you feel. Do you want to be miserable? If you do, that’s your choice. If not, simply make a different one.
